Complete Tuition Policy

A. You may make tuition payments in one of the following ways: i. Annual Payment – Payment for the year must be paid in a lump sum, due before the first day of school. Payment may be made by cheque or money order only. Your family will receive a 3% discount if the entire annual tuition is made by the first day of school. ii. Monthly Automatic Withdrawal Payment (PAD) – Payment of 10% of the annual amount will be withdrawn from your account on the first day of each month (Aug. to May). These payments must be made by automatic withdrawal. **Administrative charge: Please note, a $50 administration fee will be charged for – insufficient funds (NSF) or payment received in any other form.

B. Students will not be readmitted until all financial obligations are met.

C. When a student voluntarily withdraws from the school for any reason, one month’s notice must be given or 10% of the annual amount paid.

D. When a student leaves the school for any reason, all previously unpaid accounts remain due to the school.

E. Full tuition is required unless families meet with the school board finance committee and arrange for financial assistance. Families must provide their Notice of Assessment, and reduced tuition will be based on a sliding scale. Families who do not pay the reduced tuition will be required to remove their children from the school. (A Notice of Assessment is a document the Canada Revenue Agency issues after reviewing your income tax (T1) return. We do not accept working copies of the T1 General form, as they have not been audited or accepted by Canada Revenue Agency. If you do not have a copy, please contact Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-8281.)

F. Inability to comply with any of the above policies must be communicated to the WCCS Board, and alternate arrangements may be available under certain circumstances.

financial assistance

Our Financial Assistance Fund is supported by a portion of our regular tuition fees and by donations from individuals who share the vision of our school. This fund is administered by the WCCS School Board through an application/interview process once a family is registered.  Assistance is on a sliding scale based on income, assets and number of students enrolled.

Donations to this fund may be made to West Coast Christian School, marked as “Financial Assistance”.

What Our Parents Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our school families do the talking!

I love this school! It feels like home, like family.

Our son has difficulty socializing with his peers and we were concerned that at a public school he would be bullied. The small class sizes here give his teachers extra time to help him learn to connect better with his peers. I’m also grateful that I have the opportunity to volunteer. It feels great to be a part of such a close-knit community.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is West Coast Christian School a BC government school?
No, our school is an independent school recognized by the British Columbia Ministry of Education as a Group 1 Independent School, and it’s a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Federation of Independent Schools Association (FISA BC)
Does my family have to be Christian to register our children?
No, your family is welcome in our school whether or not you follow Christian believes. However, please take the time to read our “Statement of Faith”. As a Christian school, our entire community is exposed to Christian teachings in every subject and aspect of our schooling life. The expectation is that your child(ren) will participate in said teachings.
What kind of curriculum do you follow?
Our teachers seek to teach a curriculum that supports the church’s philosophical stance, the desires of the parents, and the requirements set out by the BC Ministry of Education.
What does the registration process involve?

Your first step is to contact the office for an application package. Once we receive your completed application, the principal will review it. We will then contact you to schedule a preliminary interview. Our school doesn’t register children on a first come first serve basis. Rather, we want to connect with the family to make sure that we are the right fit for your child’s education and that your family will be a great addition to our community. During the interview, we will tour our facilities, meet the teachers, and go over your questions and the application you filled out.

Is there any other costs outside tuition?
Yes. You will be responsible for the cost of uniforms, as well as there may be additional costs for text books and supplies, and payment for overnight trips. Please refer to our complete tuition policy above.
Whether you have just learn about our school, want to look more deeply into our philosophy and objectives, or are ready to apply, we look forward to meeting you personally. Contact us anytime to book a tour of our facilities or attend one of our open houses. We also open our door to the public during school-wide events such as our annual Christmas concert. Stay connected to find out more information on upcoming events.
What is the next step?

Start your registration process by contacting the school office to obtain an application package. Once complete, you may drop off or email your application and we will contact you to set up a preliminary interview. If you still have any questions or want to book a tour please call us and we’ll be glad to answer any questions.
